CAST OF CHARACTERS

A Chorus Line and West Side Story were around-the-corner neighbors for most of 1980, playing at the Shubert and the Minskoff respectively as shown in this pullout directory from Playbill Magazine. The revival of WSS would play through the end of November of that year; having reached the five-year mark, ACL was only a third of the way to becoming (what was at the time) the longest-running musical in Broadway history, racking up a total of 6137 performances when it closed in April 1990. |

Thousands of dancer-actors have credentials in both musicals, only a few of whom are listed below. No such list, however short, could exist without the mention of Michael Bennett, whose child, perhaps whose legacy, A Chorus Line is. But his extensive and undeniably distinguished list of credits as a director and choreographer are nevertheless preceded by a run of on-stage appearances, including stock productions of West Side Story as Baby John or Action, and on a few occasions as choreographer. |
